"Cause and effect” dominoes continue to fall as long as there are dominoes. In our example the last domino is “homelessness” (although that too has its own effects). <br /><br />These “Sobering Thoughts” suggest it would help to identify more dominoes that likely result in homelessness here then arrange them into a system of causes and effects. To do this the City could host community collaborations of stakeholders.<br /><br />Salem has its own system dynamic and City leadership capable of moving us beyond a piecemeal approach so we can discover places where intervention in the homeless system is most likely to succeed.<br /><br />Unfortunately homelessness is common.
